About Us
The Bar-King Dog Kennel has been serving Big Island pets for over 27 years. We hold valid county and state permits and are long standing members of the Pet Care Services Association (formally the American Boarding Kennel Association). In 1997 we also became the first Satellite Quarantine Station in the state of Hawaii. As pet lovers, every effort has been made to place the welfare of all the pets that come to our facility above all other considerations. We continuously to strive to stay in touch with the changing needs and expectations of the pet owning public to make sure that our facility will continue to lead the way in pet care in our community. The health, safety and well-being of your pets are our number one priority.
Our Staff
Each member of our staff has been selected because they share a genuine love and affection for all animals. Some of our staff members have had prior experience working in veterinary clinics or grooming shops but all of them share the same binding commitment to the welfare of all of the pets in their care. We provide on going educational opportunities and awareness training for staff members and encourage their active participation in looking for ways to improve our day to day operations as well as the quality of our service.
